Duncan Murdoch with Henry Kaiser performing in FACE improv
FACE Improv: A fusion of live free-form Jazz with
long-form improvisational comedy theatre at the PIT, NYC. Here, Henry's character demonstrates
his new deluxe razor on Duncan, the unsuspecting walrus. The FACE improv is a celebration of moment to moment improvisations that are simultaneously shared
by both music and acting. Unlike other theatrical shows involving instrumentalists, with FACE
improv the music is unwritten and directly informs the direction of the scenes. The music no
longer provides only a background score to the acting in the scene, it now is able to dictate the
scene to the actors. The freeform jazz is at the level and forefront of the action on stage where
it truly shares in the creation of FACE’s reality.
